Accreditation Overview

EIAC's Accreditation Mission

EIAC provides a high quality of international school accreditation. The uniqueness and rigor of EIAC's criteria of accreditation are established for developing international schools and recognizing them through granting accreditation. This mission is built upon the following ideals:

  1. a school's goal is set for student success;
  2. schools have a clear purpose and school-wide learning outcomes; and
  3. schools are committed to a rigorous self-evaluation, and an independent, objective appraisal of the overall educational quality.

Why Accreditation?

  • Assure a school community that the school’s purposes are appropriate and being accomplished through a viable education program  - a trustworthy institution for student learning
  • Validate the integrity of the school’s program and transcripts
  • Facilitate transfer of credits to other English-speaking schools - critical for college/university acceptance worldwide
  • Provide a process for regularly examining programs, processes, and data around school goals and student learning through data analysis, reflection, inquiry, and dialogue
  • Build a professional culture to support the schoolwide action plan
  • Foster the continuous improvement of the school’s programs and operations to support student learning
  • Provide valuable insight from fellow educators visiting the school
  • Benefit schools that choose joint accreditation or other collaborative processes

EIAC Accreditation Process

Education Provider Application

  • Apply online via the EIAC website with the necessary attachment’s documents together with the application fee paid;
  • EIAC will review and confirm the application status within one (1) month of having received the applicant’s request.
  • Schedule date of assessment for accreditation would propose within three (3) months from the date of the application and the assessment detail plan for accreditation would arrange;
  • EIAC conduct the assessment for accreditation as per plan and provide a written assessment outcome to the education provider;
  • EIAC would grant the accreditation for 3 years to the education provider who was fully succeeded in the assessment. For any unsuccessful case there will be suggestion plans that would be provided.

Accreditation Review Process

  • Review of Documentation; Upon receiving an application for accreditation, the EIAC shall thoroughly review submitted documents for completeness, authenticity and full disclosures. Gaps identified shall be addressed by requesting the applicant to provide the missing documents;
  • Meetings and /or field visits; After the review of the application and the accompanying documents, the committee may elect to a) invite the applicant for an oral interview or b) plan to make a site visit to the proposed institution;
  • Oral Interviews; Where the EIAC elects to interview the applicant, a formal invitation with an adequate notice of not less than 15 days shall be provided. Where additional documents or the presence of teaching & learning or other staff members are needed, the same shall be communicated to the applicant giving them ample time to prepare;
  • Field Visits; Site visits shall be preceded by a formal notice of not less than 30 days, detailing purpose, areas to be visited, persons needed and any additional documents that may be required.

Administration and Organization Management

Vision/Mission/Goal:
  1. The school has clear vision of missions, directions, a common set of goals, and consensus on the means for attaining them.
  2. The school develops annual strategic plans that are aligned with its vision and mission statements, and goals/policy objectives. 
  3. The plan constitutes the school as an organization that aims at meeting the requirements of related government agencies and Office of the National Primary Education Commission.
  4. There are specific plans for promoting educational technology innovation, academic excellence, ethics, and active learning.  
  5. The school establishes a clear leadership role and responsibilities that promote good governance of the administrators. Its administration and management ensure the creation of policies and guidelines that are applicable to all roles of the administrators such as a corporate governance policy, codes of ethics, and conducts.

Curriculum and Quality of Teaching and Learning

Curriculum and Syllabus:
  1. The school’s curriculum is flexible in terms of adaptability and accessibility for students’ needs and capabilities. 
  2. The school ensures the quality of teaching and learning of all levels and maintains the consistency of the curriculum standards.
  3. The school assessment system is aligned with the learning objectives as set in the curriculum. Each assessment task is conducted with appropriate manners.

Resource Management

Human resources:
  1. The school has an effective recruitment and selection program for its employees. The placement of all faculty and support staff are aligned with their qualifications, experiences, and the school’s expectation. Numbers of faculty and support staff are sufficient and commensurate with the numbers of students in order to ensure satisfactory and quality of learning experience for students. 
  2. The school supports its faculty and support staff through capacity building for promoting their professional development. 
  3. There is an effective and appropriate process of faculty and support staff performance evaluation. The evaluation has explicit criteria. All faculty and staff understand the performance evaluation policy and procedures and are entered in the process. The performance evaluation effectively informs and promotes the continuous development and well-being of the individual. 
  4. The school has policies, strategies, and practices to ensure a smooth financial management flow, and economic sustainability. There are financial management evaluation, report, and risk management plan in place with full function.  
  5. There are appropriate education resources, indoor and outdoor grounds, and facilities that are relevant to the size and type of the school. Up-to-date equipment and teaching-learning materials are provided in order to promote a positive and supportive environment for students’ learning.

Teaching and Learning Program

Teaching and Learning Management:
  1. Classroom activities and learning processes are designed to promote students’ abilities in creative thinking and problem-solving. The activities encourage connections between knowledges and real-world contexts and can be linked to innovation and technology that support student-centered and varieties of learning styles and abilities.  
  2. Teaching and learning assessment are aligned with learning objectives as documented in the content area curriculum. 
  3. Learning achievement is aligned with learning objectives as documented in the content area curriculum.  
  4. The school’s learning program focuses on building up each student’s identity.
  5. Student reflection is a valuable tool for teaching-learning improvement. Teachers engage in a reflective process such as conducting classroom action research in which they gather empirical data to improve their teaching practices and students’ learning outcomes.

Students Wellbeing

Student Admission and Registration:
  1. The school ensures that the marketing and promotion of its courses and education services are not misleading and is consistent with the Consumer Law.
  2. The school well organized a system of student recruitment, acceptance, and suspension/expulsion.
  3. The school provides health care and welfare to support the health safety and security of all students.
  4. Extra learning programs support student needs.
  5. Extra learning program activities can encourage and engage students in voluntary act both inside and outside school.

Community and Network Engagement

Parent Involvement:
  1. The school establishes systemical communications with parents/guardians, partnerships, networks, local communities, and other related organizations. 
  2. The school establishes activities for promoting partnerships and networks with other institutes locally and internationally.
